Nina Rancke-Madsen is Icelandic by birth, and the choice has therefore fallen on the so-called Skálholt map, originally drawn by the Icelander Sigurd Stefansson in 1570 and known through the translation from Icelandic into Danish that Thorlacius carried out in 1669. The unique manuscript needs a loving restoring hand - which is now at work!
