Jens Munk (1579-1628) was the leader of an expedition that took off in May 1619 in search of the Northwest Passage to Asia, going round the north of America. The men were forced to winter at Hudson Bay, and 61 out of 64 men succumbed to scurvy. Jens Munk was among the survivors, and after his return he published this account of the strenuous expedition.
