39. The Denmark Expedition 1906-08. Mylius-Erichsen et al. 1906-08.

On the Denmark Expedition 1906-08 to North-East Greenland, each member of the expedition was given a camera and photographed nature, camps and fellow-travellers.

The expedition was led by Mylius-Erichsen. The entire North-East coast was charted and the large fiords were examined, i.a. the 200 km long Denmark's Fiord. This was where Mylius-Erichsen, Høegh Hagen and Jørgen Brønlund lost their lives during a sledge journey.

The photographic plates are kept at the Danish Arctic Institute. In 1918 Department of maps, prints and photographs acquired from the Committee for the Denmark Expedition three large albums with mounted amateur photographs from the expedition.
