"I Guds Navn. Et Øieblik, mine Herrer, hvis De tillader! Jeg er den Afdødes Søstersøn og troer derfor at turde have Lov til at tale et Ord". Med denne salut trådte den unge læge frem ved graven straks efter jordpåkastelsen for at protestere mod den kirkelige begravelse af den rabiate kirkestormer, som kirken efter hans mening havde "paa en Maade voldtagen". Mindre end et døgn senere var den skandaløse episode ude i næsten alle københavnske dagblade. Også biskop Martensen var på stikkerne og fik Lund retsforfulgt, så han måtte betale en bøde på 100 rigsdalere. Nogen tid senere indledte Lund udgivelsen af sin onkels litterære efterladenskaber. |

"In the name of God. One moment, gentlemen, if you will permit me! I am the son of the sister of the deceased, and therefore I believe that I ought to be permitted to speak a few words." With this salute the young doctor stepped forward by the grave immediately after the graveside ceremony to protest against the ecclesiastical funeral of the fanatical iconoclast, whom the church had, in his opinion, "in a way violated." Less than 24 hours later this scandalous episode appeared in nearly all the Copenhagen daily newspapers. Bishop Martensen was also in form and made sure that Lund was taken to court, so that he had to pay a fine of 100 rixdalers. Some time later Lund began the publication of his uncle's literary remains. |
