Emil Boesen (1812-81) | 2. Forfatterskabets Første Fase
The First Phase of Writing |
| Kierkegaard's only intimate, his "trusty friend," whom he had known since their boyhood. When Kierkegaard was staying in Berlin in the early 1840's he sent letters to Boesen about his break with Regine and about the intoxicating creation of works such as Either - Or and Repetition. Boesen himself had a try with his work A Religious Life in Development: Letters from Cornelis, published by Z., which exposes his sensitive and poetical nature, but also reveals his literary debt to Kierkegaard. After he became vicar in Horsens in 1849, his contacts with Kierkegaard were fewer - but Boesen still faithfully visited when Kierkegaard lay dying in Frederik's Hospital, and wrote down their last conversations. |
