Later copy of Salâh al-Dîn al-Safadî’s (d. 1363) Kashf al-hâl fî wasf al-khâl (Uncovering the circumstance in describing the mole in poetry). The title page of the manuscript is written in two different styles of Arabic calligraphy: the angular Kûfî on blue in the cartouche and below that, the more curved Thuluth in gold. The note in the top left corner is an example of the ordinary script, Naskhî.
This copy was acquired in Cairo 1762 by F.C. von Haven, a member of the Carsten Niebuhr expedition, the Arabian Journey, to the Middle East 1761-1767.

22 x 15.8 cm.
