40. Fattigholm's drawings. H.G.F. Holm. 1820-
H.G.F. Holm, called Fattigholm, started his career by drawing archaeological specimens. The accuracy demanded for this work was very apparent in his later work.
From about 1820 he drew a large number of prospects from Copenhagen and Northern Zealand which by virtue of their accuracy and richness of detail are of great historical-topographical value. He developed into a major artist within his area and became a watercolorist of superior technique. These pictures provide one of our best sources as to what Copenhagen looked like in the golden age.
