31. Gade's fourth symphony.
The composer Niels W. Gade (1817-1890) wrote eight symphonies, of which the fourth in B major - also when compared with the symphonies by Beethoven and Brahms - was the most frequently played symphony abroad during the second half of the 19. century.
The famous composer's own copy of the fourth symphony, which apparently travelled widely with him and has therefore become extremely worn, is one of the absolute treasures in Danish music history.
