30. Hartmann's The fishermen. J.E. Hartmann. 1779.
The composer J.E. Hartmann's (1726-1793) ballad opera The fishermen - the composer's own ink manuscript from 1779 - is a treasure in Danish music and theatre. Amongst other things because it introduced Johannes Ewald's text for the subsequent royal anthem King Kristian.
The manuscript is, moreover, one of the very earliest examples of Danish ballad opera and one of the very few Danish manuscript scores from before the major fire at the palace in 1794. The manuscript ought therefore to be available also for future generations' scholars and anyone else interested. This is only possible if the score is conserved and rebound.
