Title page

This book was bound for Frederik III in a so-called Frederik III binding with the King’s crowned monogram in gold at the top of the spine. Frederik III employed two French bookbinders, Jean Michel and Gaspard Micholet, to bind all his books in these brown leather bindings decorated in gold on the spine. They only managed to bind a small part of the collection and mostly the large formats. This dictionary is one of the few small books bound in a Frederik III binding.

15.1 x 9 cm.
