This small book contains the Book of Psalms from the Old Testament translated into French verse. The translators, the poet Clement Marot (1496-1544) and the theologian Theodore de Beze (1519-1605), were both French Protestants, and their version of the Psalms was especially used in the Calvinistic Church. The first edition appeared in 1562.
This copy is bound in silver and agate.
