This translation of the Bible into Russian Church Slavonic, printed 1751, was done by order of the Russian Empress Elisabeth. The first edition of the Bible in Russian Church Slavonic was printed in 1581, the so-called Ostroga Bible. The 1751-edition is considered the standard edition.
This copy is bound in vellum with decorations in black, e.g. “drawer-handle” tools are seen in the middle of the front cover.
