“Eastern and Western India” and China are presented in this substantial work with descriptions of flora, climate, geology, and especially of people and their customs. As Erasmus Francisci (1627-1694) did not travel himself, the descriptions are based on other people’s reports. Francisci wrote books on many subjects and was one of the most successful German writers of his time. One of the illustrations above shows royal scenes from Pegu (in present-day Burma).

34 x 21.8 cm.
