This is Martin Luther’s (1483-1546) own draft of one of his controversial pamphlets, written in 1527, about the Eucharist and the interpretation of the words of Jesus: “This is my body” – a central point for the Protestant reformers. In the front a letter to Luther from his close associate Philipp Melanchthon (1497-1560) has been pasted in.

The manuscript: 21.3 x 15.8 cm.
The letter: 26 x 22.7 cm.
