Factory inspector O.J. Rawert (1786-1851) embarked on numerous journeys, at home as well as abroad, during the years 1805-1849. He frequently drew and painted what he saw. All the pictures, 1,635 in total, have dates and locations and are of great documentary value. Some of the drawings were published in Danske Egne (Danish Regions), which appeared 1819-1823.
