Andr. Ørnstrup: Spanske og Franske Tropper paa Fyen Aar 1808 (Spanish and French Troops in Funen 1808).

After the English bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807 and the capture of the Danish fleet, Emperor Napoleon sent auxiliary troops to Denmark. In the spring of 1808 French and Spanish troops arrived in the island of Funen under the command of Marshal Bernadotte, later King Carl XIV Johan of Sweden.
Andr. Ørnstrup, who witnessed the arrival of the troops, later made a series of drawings of the soldiers and their colourful uniforms.
