The megillah (scroll) containing the Book of Esther is read in the synagogue during the Feast of Purim. This megillat Ester is probably Dutch, from the beginning of the 18th century. The Biblical text is written within copper engraved borders. Some of the panels in the lower borders depict different events in the story.
The scroll is 17.2 cm high.
