This is a Danish translation of the Roman author Seneca’s moral philosophical works from the first century A.D. The translator was the noblewoman Birgitte Thott (1610-1662). She dedicated the book to womankind, and in the preface she encourages women to engage in academic studies. The book was printed at the Academy for young noblemen in the town of Sorø.
